How about a simple but unique text effect which looks like a night light sign board.

[1] Take a new file of 400 pixels, 400 pixels
, of resolution 72 dpi in the RGB mode.

[2] Now fill the background with color black., then take the
Text Tooland create your text with color red.

[3] Now select the background layer then hold Cnlt+Click
on your text layer to make the selection.

[4] Move the selection 4-5 pixel down and
2 pixel to right as shown image below.

[5] Now press Shift+Cntl+I to inverse the selection, you
wil have this type of selection as shown image below.

[6] Now create a new layer and fill the selection with white color.

[7] Then go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur
use these values.

[8] Your image will be look like this.

[9] And now go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects
apply the following settings.

[10] Your image something look like this.

[11] Now select the orignal text layer.

[12] Then go to Blending Option and select
the Outer Glow apply the following settings.

[13] Do not click ok now select the
Bevel and Emboss use these settings.

[14] Now select the Satin Structure
and apply the following settings.

[15] Your final image should be look like this.
